Abba's House is a non-profit discipleship program that provides an environment for recovering alcoholics, drug addicts and individuals struggling to stay on the straight and narrow to grow and come into their full potential. In March of 2017, OFCC bought their first house to turn into a home for recovering individuals who have suffered from the addiction of drugs, alcohol, homelessness or who just need help staying committed to Christ. This first house was a men’s home. There is a strict program that all individuals must abide by. This plan keeps the men in the program accountable on every level.

More information on the program is listed below.

Membership Application

The standard application used by Abba’s House to help evaluate the eligibility of applicants applying for membership in an Abba’s House.

Weekly Meetings

Individuals will be required to attend all services at OFCC, any additional prayer meetings, and Kingdom Men classes. Services include Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night, plus Kingdom Men on Sunday nights. We will also have mandatory meetings every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the house. Friday and Saturday evenings are left open and unscheduled unless there is a special event planned for optional participation. Occasionally there will be other times we will have events that you are encouraged, but not required to attend.

Getting a Job

You will be required to get a job within your first two weeks of being in the home. The representative of this home will assist you and keep you accountable to ensure that you are trying your best to find a reliable source of income. The job must be full time and 1st or 2nd shift. No 3rd shift jobs are permitted, as this would cause you to miss curfew.

Weekly Finances

Rent is required to be turned into the house manager every Friday. At this time, rent is $120 per week. This covers all house expenses, Kingdom Men curriculums and discipleship programs. If for some reason you do not pay these fees, you may be immediately removed from the program and house, unless previously discussed with the house manager.

Curfew is strictly enforced. Monday through Thursday curfew is at 10 P.M. and you are able to leave no earlier than 5 A.M. if you have a 1st shift job. Friday through Sunday your curfew is 11 P.M.

Drug Testing

Drug tests will be administered in the presence of person administering test upon acceptance of Abba’s House. There will be a $15 charge to cover the cost of the test. Random drug tests will be administered throughout your program. We obtain the right to go through any and all belongings at any time, without cause.

You will always be held accountable for letting the house manager know where you are, at all times. There should never be a time during this program that we are unaware of your location. During your first two weeks in the home, there will be absolutely NO cell phones, and other than church services and meetings, you will be grounded until you begin working a job.
